We wanted everybody to know that we lost an old friend. Joel Dison passed away yesterday. It was unexpected and we are all pretty shocked. Joel was a really great guy, the father of two, and played guitar with the Utters from ’90-’92. He was on every recording we made before Streets of San Francisco. Our heart felt condolences go out to his family.

Howdy everybody! We’re (slowly) getting off our asses with the whole website situation (and lack thereof for the last few years) with the help of our friends Bill and Andre over at Working Class Industry way over on the right coast. Anyhow, this is a little update to let you know what we’ve been up to as of late…

As some of you may have heard by now, we started recording a new full length over a year ago now and, well, “technical difficulties”, forces of nature, bad luck and other bothersome bullshit has kept us from making quicker progress on the damn thing. At least it’s got a title (“Here, Under Protest”)… Barring any other mishaps, it should be mixed by the first week or so of the new year, and released sometime in the spring of 2011 (barring any other mishaps).

To keep you occupied in the meantime with some of our new material, we released a 3 song 7″ on Fat Wreck Chords in June (also available digitally), and another one on November 23. Each 7″ has 2 songs from the upcoming record, and 1 song exclusive to the 7″. The songs that will eventually show up on the full length will be remixed, so as to please the nerdy collectors out there. There are some CDs floating around as well that were pressed for our European tour in November–both singles (6 songs) together on one CD– and some of them may have made there way to our shores, so look out for that as well…

We’ve been hitting the road pretty much since July, and ended our little run at the end of November, after a 3-week European tour. It was our first time back in 6 years, and we were thrilled with the way everything went. We plan to be back in Europe sometime next fall, and to make the trek “over there” once a year from now on, if the wives and kids and jobs allow it! More touring in support of our record (first full length since 2003!) starting next spring, and so on and so forth. So, we’re pretty much back on the scene… Whether you like it or not!
