Just a little heads up, we added some more shows for our August West Coast tour, and have also posted dates for our November Midwest/East Coast tour. On the November dates, Darius Koski will be the opener, playing with a full band. His new record should be out by then as well… So, show up early!!
We’ll be hitting the road in August on the West Coast. Check out the shows page for details…
IN OTHER NEWS:
1. Our beloved Miles Peck has called it quits, and is moving on to greener pastures. His last show was Groezrock, so that’s something… We’re all bummed as hell, but them’s are the breaks. For the time being, bass player #4 in the colorful history that is the Utters’ will be played by Tony Teixeira (of Western Addiction, Cobra Skulls, Sciatic Nerve, and about 7 million other bands, most of them with our own “Lovely Luke” Swarm). He’s probably just about young enough to be Johnny or Darius’ son (as is Luke, who is our son), and is currently sporting a very handsome mustache.
2. We bought a new van. Well, not new, but new to us. We can’t actually afford a new van, that’s fucking ridiculous.
3. Darius recorded his 2nd solo album, to be mixed any day now, and released on Fat sometime in October (hopefully).
That’s about it, for now.
We’re super excited to finally get back on the road after a bit of a break, for a little run to and from Riot Fest Chicago on September 18! We’ll be playing an after show party at the Cobra Lounge later that same night as well. This little run concludes at the Pozo Festival in Pozo, CA. Heard of it? Neither have we, but we’re also really excited about that, as we get to play with our good friends Manic Hispanic, Youth Brigade, NOFX and the Descendents! Woohoo, sounds like a party! See y’all there! Check the shows page for info…
In other news, we’re (slowly) writing another record, and will hopefully be in the studio sometime early next year. In the meantime, toyGuitar’s new shit is fucking great, so you should check that out. Really.
Hey hey hey,
Our tour of the west coast is kickin’ butt so far. We need to update this damn thing more, and figure from the road stuff is probably the way to go. People like that, right? Anyhow, we’re in Fresno tonight. That’s right, Fresno on a Tuesday. If you think this is a plea to PLEASE COME OUT and see us in Fresno-on-a-Tuesday, well, it is. Also, tomorrow will be the first time we’ve played the ROXY in Los Angeles in nearly 20 years, so we’re really looking forward to that. So come on out people. We’ll have a good time together, I promise.
Well hi there, been a while! We’re back from our fantastical, momentous Fat Wreck 25th Anniversary tour, and it was great to be on the road with so many old friends for 3 weeks, and it’s been an amazing 20 years on our beloved label. We’ve posted tour dates for the Western US run in November, so check out the shows page.
Darius is playing a solo show w/Chuck Ragan at the Anaheim House of Blues on September 5, so be sure to check that out as well!
See ya soon!
Hey there everybody. Greg McEntee, our drummer of 27 (!) years, and founding member of the Utters, has decided to hang ’em up and move on to other avenues. You can read more about it here: http://www.fatwreck.com/news/detail/827
It’s been a hell of a ride, and we’ll miss him.
The show at Primal Skateshop in Abilene, TX has been CANCELLED, due to unforeseeable circumstances. We’re sorry and bummed, but maybe we’ll see you next year! Check out the shows page for all of our other upcoming Southern U.S. tour dates. See all of y’all out there in the next 3 weeks! Ciao baby!
Check out the shows page for our 2015 Southern U.S. tour dates!
Howdy! Lots has happened in our corner of the world in the last few months. The Utters finished our latest record, “Fistful Of Hollow”, which will be out on Fat Wreck on November 11. We’ll be touring the U.S. and Canada with Lagwagon in November and December, and Europe in February/March with toyGuitar (Jack and Miles’ other band). We’ll post those dates soon (they’re also available on our Facebook page). Look forward to headlining tours of the U.S. starting spring 2015… toyGuitar recorded their debut album with Chris Dugan, and that’ll be out on Fat Wreck sometime early next year. Darius also recorded his debut solo album, which will also be out on Fat Wreck sometime early next year…
