We’ve posted our upcoming week-long run of the west coast, and also our European tour, which is just a few weeks away! We’ll be mixing our record in the next couple of weeks as well, so it’s been a busy time for us. By now you’ve all heard of Tony Sly’s passing. He was a good friend and label mate of ours. A father, brother, son, husband, and all around really great person. He is greatly missed, but thankfully he left a hefty amount of songs for his family and fans to remember him by. RIP Tony Sly.
Hey there everybody. Recording plans have been delayed slightly, but we’re still hoping to get our asses into the studio this summer. We’ve got 16 or so songs that are ready to go, and we’re just working on scheduling right now… Other than that, we’ve got a few shows here and there throughout the summer, and then we head out to Europe once again for the month of September.
We’ve been hunkering down, writing a shitload of songs for our next record. We’re going to spend the month of May in the studio, and so we HOPE to have it out on Fat Wreck sometime early Autumn, right around the time your kids get back to school… We’ll let you all know of the exact release date once we’ve got one! It’s an exciting release for us, as Jack Dalrymple has already contributed several songs (for the first time as an Utter), and there are more to come. It’s also the first time we’ve ever recorded a proper record in Santa Cruz, where we formed some 24 years ago. Yes, we are that old.
On another note, we’re also going into the studio to record a few songs for a couple of upcoming 7″‘s, one on Fat, and the other a split with Modern Action on their label.
‘Til then, if you’re in San Francisco on St. Patrick’s Day, come to Thee Parkside in fabulous Potrero Hill, and get really sloppy drunk with us (or, if you’re sober, it should be a good opportunity to make fun of Johnny and Darius. They may drink a little.)
We wanted everybody to know that we lost an old friend. Joel Dison passed away yesterday. It was unexpected and we are all pretty shocked. Joel was a really great guy, the father of two, and played guitar with the Utters from ’90-’92. He was on every recording we made before Streets of San Francisco. Our heart felt condolences go out to his family.
The show in San Antonio on November 20th is now at The Ten Eleven! Check out the Upcoming Gig Calendar for more details!
